Who do I get to remove excess cables from the outside of my house?

I just moved into a new house and I notice there are 6 or 7 extra (and unsightly) internet cables attached to my house from the utility pole. Presumably these are the results of old cable TV and internet services. Verizon did not remove these extra useless cables when they did the new cable installation and they say they won't remove them because they are not Verizon's cables. How do I get these removed? Is it a power company issue, or do I get an electrician to do it? They are all coaxial (coax) cables.
