What are the chances of a soldier being re-directed to Afghanistan?

If a soldier has orders to deploy to Iraq and is a 15F (helicopter electrician), what are the chances that he will be re-directed or re-assigned to Afghanistan now that they are saying that we need more troops there? I have been told that for his MOS he will be on an airbase so I was wondering if he could likely be re-assigned to Afghanistan instead?
