Moving to Canada on Skilled Immigration- how much assets do I need to have? How much does the visa cost?

Me (social worker) and my husband (electrician) are thinking of moving to Canada in the next few years. I am unable to find info on how much assets/money we need to be able to move. Also does anyone know how much the visa costs? Also from my understanding the visa lasts for 5 years. What happens after that do we have to apply again and pay the same fee for another visa that lasts a further 5 years? Any info would be very much appreciated. Thanks Nicola We live in the UK.
