central air stopped working after i hit wires with weed eater. what do i do?

I hit a couple wires coming from my home and going into the central air unit. The air quit working so i am sure i damaged the wiring internally. In this case would i call an electrician or an air conditioner company? I tried to fix myself but got shocked so I stopped. Thanks for any suggestions.
