i just ask a question stating, is it true or false that a voltage frequency?

inverter has a DC output voltage. The answer i received was, False. A Voltage Frequency inverter is use to control the frequency of the electricity. DC has no frequency. AC (Alternating Current) does. So I can better understand this is it true by stating that when using a Variable frequency drive that by adjusting the frequency in the AC input voltage this will raise or lower the torque in a DC motor. If my thinking is NOT correct please elaborate just a little so i can get a better understanding on this. Thank you all you have been a great help. I have lost my job of 9 years (Industrial Electrician) because of layoffs and i am studing for a pre-employment quiz for a new company. It has been years since I have had to use any of this type of stuff. My education level consists of high school and an a 4 year electrical apprenticeship program. I am researching what I can from books I have and by reading online. I am not lazy like some, that expect you guys to do there home work for them. Thank you again in advance any help will be greatly appreciated
