Why does my Brinks Mercury Vapor light go off and on during the night?

I have the light installed in my yard on a pole and just noticed that it goes off and on during the night. Just installed last year. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Should I call an electrician or is the light bad? Thanks!
