Girlie question for those that know. Why do my lightbulbs keep blowing?

. I'm getting through about 3 bulbs a week in all rooms of the house. And everytime one blows it trips the switch for all the power in the place. I assume I need to get an electrician in, but I'd like to know possible causes please. The house is about 30 years old, so I'll assume the wiring is original.
