We own a 50 year old cape home and the entire upstairs is hooked up to one breaker. This wasn't a problem until we added a wall a/c unit (10,000 btu) and now it keeps tripping the breaker. We plan on renovating in the next three years so we'd like to hopefully get a quick and easy fix to this problem like maybe just having the a/c hooked up to it's own breaker. My question is this...is that a big electrical issue? Are there any other suggestions to solve this problem? Bottom line am I going to be shell-shocked at the estimate from the electrician?! Many thanks in advance!
