I just purchased a new house and we are having the whole electrical system gutted, the electrician is also going to be installing Cat 5 cable. We have FIOS availability in our area. I was wondering if there is any andvantage to having fiber optic throughout the house. On the CAT 6 wire, is that compatible with all previous CAT 5 cable ethernet cards and routers and all that stuff?
