Hello so, I've been looking for an Electrician Apprenticeship, I've gone to every electrical shop I could find in my area, Hell any place that has to do with electricity I brought my resume to them said I was willing to work for next to nothing, I just wanna learn and I got no interest. I have no idea how to go about finding an apprenticeship. My whole family has white collar jobs but, that really doesnt really interest me. I am not looking for a 9-5 with paid lunch and holiday. I'm looking to work my hands to the bone and learn a trade, I have 2 years experience working general labor, and factory work but I don't really have any experience in the electrical field. How do I get an apprenticeship without any connections? Where do i go? I just cant seem to find anyone or anything about it. All I know is theres a 5 year training process, and There is a union tho idk how to join it or if i can before I have journeymen status I live in Albany, NY if that matters idk if the process goes by area.
