Can anyone offer advice about electrician apprenticeship programs in WA state?

I am looking into becoming an electrician in WA state. I would appreciate any advice/info/comments regarding apprenticeship programs. i.e. how to find one, how to get in, the electrical union, what it's like to be an apprentice/electrician, types of electrical positions, etc.
