Is there a way to get around the electrical apprenticeship program and just start working?

I worked in hardware retail for 10 years. Did some electrical side jobs and I even wired a whole house completely (including the panel) and it passed 3 electrical inspections. If I know what I'm doing, why do I need to jump through all the same hoops? Are there any other avenues? Like maybe a company that trains a little but expect you to know the basics? Does anyone have any ideas?
