Is electrician a good and profitable carrer in California?

I was thinking to get into the electrician field,if somebody can let me know how much is the entry level salary for an electrician in California(specifically in the bay are) ;also let me know if it is a goog carrer to get into and some good schools. Thank you so much for your help.
