Is there anything that has to be done to safely move the wiring? I have not cut into the wall yet, but I am sure there is wiring in the way because I have an outdoor outlet that is right next to my patio door where the dog door will be. Any ideas would be helpful! Either I deal with the electrical problem, or I have to go through studs on the other side of the patio door! Aagghhhhh! Thanks to all of your answers. My dog is a german shepard and I am hoping that the door will clear the wires. When I measured where the door will sit, it was about a half inch off where the indoor outlets sit. If that is any indication where the lines are running I may just have enough slack to slide it down a bit? At least that is what I am hoping for. Worse case scenario, I open the wall and then call an electrician!!!
