How can I measure an electrical signal in a plant. How to subject a plant to a stimuly and measure response?

I am looking for a method to make an experiment with plants which generate and release, on being stimulated, an electrical potential. Clarifications are as wellcome as direct answers. Some plants produce a flow of ions on being stimulated analogous to the potential released in cells. I wish to measure this flow
