whats it like to be a Electrician in the Army reserves?

Looking into the electrician for the army reserves. i like to work with electronics, but i don't want to have a job where i worry about getting laid off, or cant find work. anyone have a input on the electricians? or any other suggestions for good jobs. (non combat or infantry)
