What are some possible jobs to look for before beginning a career in electrical engineering?

I am a sophomore in electrical engineering school and am wondering what kind of work experience I can get to help me improve my resume for a future electrical engineering job around Phoenix, AZ. I have about 4 years of retail sales experience if that helps out any. Thank you in advance!
