Is there anything wrong with an electrician working on New Years Day?

New Years Day means nothing at all to me. Neither does New Years Eve. Is it OK for an electrician to work on these days if the homeowner will be home? I'm working on a basement remodeling project that will take several days to complete. I am my own electrician.
