How much do Electrical Engineers make on average?

I am a junior in college right now majoring in Electrical Engineering. How much do new graduates make annually on average? What about engineers who have worked for 5 years? What are some good companies to try and get into? My studies have shown, a new graduate won't make over 38k a year before taxes most likely.
