What is the difference between an electrical engineerer and an electrical technician?

I am very confused on what i want to do. I like the technology of electronics and everything, but i don't really know what i would be in for if i chose the electrical engineering field. I love car audio stuff especially, but also pretty much every new technology like computers and cell phones etc. Does one career get paid more? I pretty much just need a description of what both of these learn in school and what the advantages/disadvantages would be.
